The quality and activity of the server are difficult to watch decline, but no single person can be blamed for it. For the past year, the server founder has been struggling to find a team that is either fit or unproblematic to run the server. This resulted in a constant shift of server administration and direction. This has stirred issues. From my perspective, management is ineffective: some members do little to nothing, while others puppet everything. What they all share is a lack of experience, especially compared to previous teams. By fixing the management team, all other issues could be fixed. For new roleplayers, Alaska State Roleplay is an effective fit. Server rules are brief, covering just the basics of every other server. The server rules may be basic, but the server attracts a young player base. This results in a tremendous level of fail roleplay, constant rule violations, and a distinct lack of maturity. This guarantees a moderator will be called to every roleplay you are involved in. This isn’t a recent issue either – roleplay scenes have attracted staff members for years, but no regulations have been introduced to counter it. If you want a memorable and enjoyable experience, I’d keep looking – unless your memorable experience is being RDMed multiple times. If you are looking for a chat on the server, the majority of active members in the Discord server are mature, talkative, and friendly. As with all servers, some toxicity can exist within the chats, but the moderation team is often quick to address these issues. Personally, I believe the server to be a joy – but I will avoid getting in-game until the roleplay quality is better. Briefly, the server is excellent for new roleplayers – but it could use a lot of work.
