You spawn on a beach with a rock and a torch thinking you’re about to start a cool survival adventure. Five minutes later someone with 4,000 hours runs past you, calls you a slur, and hits you in the head with a spear. Welcome to Rust. The game is basically about surviving, building a base, gathering resources, and trying not to lose everything you own every five minutes. At first you’re just hitting trees and rocks trying to make basic tools while praying nobody sees you. Eventually you build a small base and start feeling safe… which is exactly when someone with a rocket launcher shows up and deletes it from existence while you’re offline.
